This is where it all started
My name is Sam, and the desire to support others through times of struggle — and to offer genuine care, presence, and compassion — runs deeply through generations of my family. I am the product of a line of psychotherapists, and this legacy has shaped not only what I do, but who I am.
At my core, I am a person-centred practitioner. I believe that every individual has the capacity to grow, to heal, and to find their own way forward when they are met with the right conditions and supported within a trusting relationship. I do not see therapy as something done to people, but as something we move through together.
Through my own battles with mental health, addiction, and the consistency of self-sabotage, I decided to change — and it was through that route to change that TruSelf was created.
Where my work becomes slightly different is in my belief that true wellbeing involves the whole person — mind and body. Alongside my therapeutic work, I also value the role of science, physiology, and lifestyle in supporting mental and emotional health. This belief led me to create TruSelf: a service designed to support the entire individual, not just their mental health in isolation.
